Sustained trades will settle around 10-15 miles per hour. Areas downslope of the mountains may be slightly breezier. With the weaker trades, it will feel slightly more humid than the beginning of this past week. Isolated sea breeze showers are also possible each afternoon, which may develop over leeward regions.

On June 4, 2024, Rachel Hurley, a second year PhD student in Civil, Environmental, & Architectural Engineering advised by Professor Shichao Liu, was elected as the student representative for the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ). Her two-year term began in July during the 18th International Conference of ISIAQ in Honolulu, HI, where Rachel and lab mate Xingtong Guo, a fourth year PhD student, and Professor Liu presented their research related to the effects of the indoor environment on occupants. The group delivered a total of six different poster and podium talks.

Hawaii man suspected of running over dozens of protected birds on Washington beach
