DALLAS – Oklahoma safety Billy Bowman Jr. has become a leader for the Oklahoma program. Last season, Bowman Jr. made many big plays for the Sooners. To his six interceptions, the three of them he returned for touchdowns, and his ability to keep Texas receiver Xavier Worthy out of the endzone to secure the Sooner's spectacular goal-line stop. He was named to the All-Big 12 first team, named an All-American, and likely would have been a 2024 NFL Draft pick had he not opted to return to OU for one more season.
Roland assistant football coach promoted to head job
Roland High School did not have to look far to find the successor for football coach Austin Cantrell, who played his high school football with the Rangers and left this summer to take a coaching job at Rogers (Ark.) Heritage High School. The Roland Public Schools Board of Education just promoted one of its assistant football coaches.
