85-year-old Leesburg bicyclist struck and killed
An 85-year-old Leesburg bicyclist died Sunday afternoon after he was struck from behind by an automobile. The bicyclist was traveling at 3:39 p.m northbound on Palm Tree Trail north of Beach Park Road when a 76-year-old Leesburg woman driving a 2023 Hyundai Kona failed to notice him, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The front of her vehicle struck the rear of the bicycle.
