Suspect wanted after fleeing standoff with deputies arrested

A wanted Oconee County man is now behind bars. As we previously reported, 44 year old, Terry Brandon Ramey was wanted on multiple charges after a welfare check at a home in Westminster, June 18th.

Deputies arrived and Ramey reportedly threatened to harm himself, when confronted he ran into a bedroom and grabbed a rifle. Ramey then allegedly pointed the rifle at a deputy. Deputies say he set fire to a bedroom while they were trying to arrest him and fled the scene during the chaos.

Investigators located Ramey and arrested him Friday morning, 10 days after the original incident.

Ramey is charged with 2nd degree arson, pointing and presenting a gun, resisting arrest with a deadly weapon and other charges.
