A beloved hero, BMX legend Dave Mirra, is being honored for his contributions and inspirational work in Greenville with kids. Greenville officials have announced a memorial celebration for Mirra that will be held Sunday, August 25 at Jaycee Park from 5 pm to 7 pm.The celebration will be open to the public and includes a statue ribbon cutting, Dave Mirra raffle items, BMX riding sessions and a food truck.
New Bern to hold first-ever remembrance ceremony for 1905 lynching victim John Moore
This Sunday, the Craven Arts Council and local nonprofits will hold New Bern’s first-ever remembrance ceremony for John Moore, who was lynched in 1905. August 27th will mark nearly 120 years since John Moore died in an act of racial violence. This Sunday, Forward Together, a coalition of local nonprofits and groups, are taking part in Equal Justice Initiatives Remembrance Project. Craven Arts’ Executive Director, John Burger, said this is a solemn occasion but also a learning one.

Troxler Announces over $1.6 Million in Specialty Crop Research
