Not only is it not exiting, but the heat intensifies by the middle of next week with a couple days potentially climbing into the triple digits. Very little change in the forecast Saturday with temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s in central and eastern Nebraska. Mid to upper 90s in western Nebraska are likely once again as well.

Portion Of 84th Street To Close July 29
LINCOLN–(KFOR July 27) Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) this week today announced that 84th Street from “O” to Van Dorn streets will be closed beginning Monday, July 29 as a part of a Lincoln on the Move street improvement project. The intersection of 84th and “A” streets will also be closed to through traffic on “A” Street. Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained. Deputies accuse two men of multiple thefts in northeast Nebraska
MADISON COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) - The Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on July 19 on suspicion of multiple thefts. On May 31, a man reported a generator stolen from his business in Newman Grove. According to the sheriff’s office, the generator was recovered after another man traded his plasma cutter to 25-year-old Alexander Robak for the generator. It was later discovered that the generator had been stolen, and the second man returned the generator to its owner.

Fremont resident arrested for domestic assault
Fremont police were dispatched at about 8 p.m. Wednesday to the 2700 block of Skylark Street for a domestic disturbance. After completing an investigation, Dana Lorsch, 53, of Fremont was arrested and jailed for third-degree domestic assault.

New Additions to Westgate Plaza
Construction is underway on a free-standing Starbucks building with a drive-through in Westgate Plaza on the southeast corner of 84th & Hascall Street. The 1960s-era strip center is going through a lot of change. Tom Kelly’s Bowling Pros Shop, a bakery and a barber shop have all moved out. That makes way for Westlake Ace Hardware to relocate to a bigger space in Westgate Plaza from its current location at 84th & Center.
