POET Biorefining – Ashton Gives Grants To Local Causes
Ashton, Iowa — The company that runs a local ethanol plant has given some grants to local causes. Officials with POET Bioprocessing – Ashton tell us they have awarded $4,400 in grants through POET’s 2024 Community Impact Grant Program. The funds were donated through POET’s 2024 Community Impact Grant Program, which awards grants to a variety of causes throughout the more than 30 communities in which the company operates.

Norfolk Police make arrests for drug possession, DUI, trespassing
At just before noon on Wednesday, Norfolk Police responded to a call to rental storage sheds in the 900 block of East Omaha Avenue. The manager had located marijuana and other illegal controlled substances in two storage units that they were cleaning out. They had both been rented by the same individual.
