Prison for deadly Kansas crash while fleeing police
JOHNSON COUNTY —A Kansas City area man is going to prison for a deadly Kansas crash. Last week, Judge Christiina Gyllenborg sentenced 24-year-old Uconn Comemann of Grain Valley to 25-years in prison for a fatal crash while he was fleeing police, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office.
Minor injuries reported in Ray County crash; driver accused of DWI
A single-vehicle accident involving a 2001 Honda Civic occurred on July 19, 2024, at 8:25 p.m. on W 120th Street at N Gardner Road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when the driver, Nathan W. Shore, 43, of Richmond, Missouri, failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle then traveled off the roadway, became airborne, and struck a tree.
Teen driver dies after crash into Kansas City area building
KANSAS CITY—A teen driver died after an accident just before 5a.m. Saturday in Jackson County, Missouri. According to police, a Nissan Altima driven by 18-year-old Joshua Snowbarger was southbound on Noland Road, approaching 35th Street in Independence. The driver lost control of the car. FIRST WARN FORECAST: Chance for rain dwindles as heat returns
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Sunday turned out to be a spectacular day! Most of us were in the upper 70s and lower 80s in the afternoon. We do have a few isolated showers/thunderstorms that will be possible through early evening, but this activity is more miss than hit. Many of us will stay dry. If you are loving this cooler stretch, we do have one more day in the lower 80s before the temperatures climb later this week. Monday morning starts in the lower 60s, with lower 80s in the afternoon. There is another 20% chance for a pop-up shower or random rumble, but that is about it. No severe thunderstorm threat. The main weather story after Monday will be the gradual climb of temperatures back to late July standards. We are expecting mid-80s Tuesday and Wednesday with a return to the upper 80s by the end of this next week. Generally, no major heat is expected, but we could climb into the lower 90s for some next weekend. Moderate humidity could allow for it to feel slightly hotter than our actual air temperatures. There is no great chance of rain in the next week, so things could turn a little crispy through the end of July. Some of our computer models are hinting at a much hotter start to August.
