ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The City of Odessa turned off the town water supply at 2 p.m. after a water line broke on the 1800 block of East 46th Street early Saturday morning- and while no officials have confirmed the cause of the break- residents shared what the scene looked like since reportedly 4 a.m.

According to residents who live on the 1800 block of East 46th, when the roads started to flood, nobody knew where the water was coming from; until a truck that had crashed in the area, fell through the road.

Adan Aguirre, a resident in the area who shared the videos attached below, said that the truck in the video had crashed, but that because of the water break, caused the truck to fall through the ground. “The asphalt was really soft,” Aguirre said. Residents in the area added that the truck has since been towed and moved, while crews continue working.

Repair crews at the scene stated that teams have been out working on the lines since 4 a.m., but the process is harder than usual to complete because they keep finding broken valves while trying to turn off the water.

City officials said that they will continue to provide citizens with updates as they become available.
