    City of Odessa to begin $10 million reconstruction project on Crane Avenue

    ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The City of Odessa is beginning a $10 million project that will reconstruct West 2nd Street to West Pool Road.

    The Crane Avenue Reconstruction Project, contracted by Reece Albert Inc., is reported to start on July 8, 2024. According to the City of Odessa, the project will begin from West 2nd Street to West Pool Road and is estimated to be completed in September 2025.

    The project was reported to consist of a full-depth reconstruction of Crane Ave, which included the following plans:

    • Installation of 5” Type B Base Hot Mix and 3” Type D Hot Mix.
    • Removal and replacement of plan-specified sidewalks, valley gutters, and curb and gutters.
    • Removal and replacement of roughly 5,412 linear feet of water main lines.
    • Removal and replacement of 10 fire hydrants.
    • Installation of sixty-one new mainline valves.
    • Removal and replacement of twenty manholes.

    Project Cost: $10,916,978.02
