68 Odessa Wranglers to NJCAA All-Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (KMID/KPEJ) – The NJCAA has announced the 2023-2024 All-Academic Teams, which recognizes student-athletes for their abilities in the classroom. Of those student-athletes, 68 come from the Odessa College Wranglers’ seven athletic programs.

30 student-athletes made first-team, 18 were named second-team, and 20 on the third-team. The sport with the most students selected was softball with 15. Softball was followed by volleyball with 13, women’s basketball with 12, baseball with 11, men’s golf with eight, women’s golf with seven, and men’s basketball with two.

Making the first-team requires a GPA of 4.0, second-team 3.80-3.99, and third-team 3.60-3.79. In those three categories, there are 12,245 student-athletes in the NJCAA whose GPA was 3.60 or higher.
