Dog Rescue R Us steps up to help litter of abandoned puppies

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- One local animal rescue organization came to the rescue of a litter of abandoned puppies this week.

According to the City of Odessa, on Tuesday, a Good Samaritan found a litter of puppies that had been abandoned at Casa Bella Park. Animal advocates said the 10 Chihuahua mix pups are believed to be about 20 days old and do not yet have teeth.

Because the animal shelter is full, and because these young puppies need extra care and attention at such a young age, Dog Rescue R Us has partnered with the Odessa Animal Shelter to provide care for the abandoned pups.

Anyone with information about the person who dumped the puppies is asked to call the Odessa Police Department at 432-333-3641.
