Top readers win bicycles in Summer Reading program
INEZ — The Martin County Public Library has announced the winners of its Summer Reading program: Madison Sullivan, Drake Evans, Alison Lindsay and Levi Lindsay. The top readers in each age group received bicycles donated by Tommy’s Auto Sales of Inez. For younger children, the winners were chosen based on the number of books read, while for older children, the winners were determined by the number of pages read.

Crystal Rogers case; judge makes decision on Steve Lawson’s charges
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On the ninth anniversary of her disappearance, there is an update in the Crystal Rogers case. Trial will move forward for one of the three men charged in the disappearance of Crystal Rogers. Defendant Steve Lawson filed a motion for his charges to be dismissed, claiming he was promised immunity when he talked to police. But a judge has ruled his statements and information were inconsistent and he did not meet the prosecutor’s requirements for the immunity agreement.
