Sunday’s forecast calls for more of the same
Saturday night update: Get ready for more of the same on Sunday as a stationary front continues to be the key player in our weather. Combined with the heat of the day, we will see scattered showers and storms, mainly during the afternoon and evening. The good news is that this rain is much needed, as we are experiencing drought conditions. However, we don’t want the flooding, which is a possibility with slow-moving storms moving over the same areas. As far as the severity of the storms, we can’t rule out a few severe storms, but it won’t be a major event. The primary threats are heavy rain, frequent lightning, strong winds, and small hail. As far as temperatures are concerned, they will be in the upper 80s to near 90, which is actually a few degrees below average. Humidity will make it feel hotter, though, with heat indices near 100 degrees. Looking ahead to next week, the unsettled pattern continues with daily rain chances and temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s.
