    My recent visit to the Oakwood Club was a mixed bag of experiences. The food was generally good, with the steak cooked just right, although a bit gristly. The crab cakes were as expected, nothing extraordinary but not disappointing either. The drinks, however, were a highlight, strong and well-mixed.

    Unfortunately, not all dishes hit the mark. The steak, while cooked to the right degree, lacked seasoning. The same was true for the walleye. The rosemary mashed potatoes were oversalted, and the sweet potato was burnt. The oysters on the half shell were interesting, but it seemed like they were canned oysters placed on reused shells. The bacon-wrapped scallops had a good flavor but seemed to be of a lower grade.

    The atmosphere was a bit overcrowded and loud, which might not be to everyone's liking. However, the service was commendable, with the staff being helpful and efficient. Despite the long wait time, they managed to seat us faster than expected. Overall, the Oakwood Club offers a decent dining experience, but there's definitely room for improvement in terms of food quality and ambiance.

    It's really gone down hill and we don't make the drive anymore...not worth it.Flemings is closer and MUCH better.

    This review would have never happened while under the Stewart Family (Lance) control or while Executive Chef Nate Young was at the helm in the kitchen. Very sad.
