Recently, I decided to revisit Rib City Grill, an American barbecue shop that I had previously enjoyed. I had fond memories of their Pork Side Ribs, which I had recommended in the past. However, this time around, my experience was quite different.
The brisket dinner, which my companion ordered, was unfortunately disappointing. It was dry and a large chunk of it was blackened, not quite what we expected. My meal was not terrible, but it didn't live up to my previous experience. The ribs, while having a good smoke flavor, were not as tender or meaty as they claimed to be. They were a bit dry and the sauce, although good, couldn't quite save them. The baked beans were enjoyable, but the Mac and Cheese, despite its good taste, was also on the dry side.
The service was commendable, but the ambiance was marred by an unusual smell that lingered even on my clothes after I left. I also found it amusing that they listed Yuengling as an 'import' beer. I'm still waiting for a response from the corporate office regarding my complaints. I'm not sure if I'll be returning to Rib City Grill anytime soon. It's a shame that the service at some places can leave such a lasting impression.
