If you're on the hunt for authentic Chinese cuisine, Uncle Yip's is a spot you'll want to check out. I recently had the pleasure of diving into their menu, and let me tell you, the dry-fried beef ho fun and stir-fried Shanghai choy sum were delightful, though I did find myself wishing for a bit more on the plate.
The dim sum selection is where Uncle Yip's truly shines. From the rock salt tofu that boasts the perfect balance of crispy and salty, to the not-too-sweet sesame balls, each dish is a testament to the culinary prowess of the kitchen. The sui mai and beef short rib come highly recommended, and you'd be remiss to skip out on the bean curd rolls, even if they were a tad too crispy during my visit.
While the food is excellent, it's worth noting to double-check your takeout orders, as there have been instances of missing items or sauces. But don't let that deter you; the warmth of the staff and the inviting atmosphere make up for these small hiccups. Uncle Yip's may not be the fanciest place around, but it's got heart, and it's a family-run business that's been serving up deliciousness for decades. Can't wait for my next visit!
