If you're craving authentic Korean cuisine without the hefty price tag, Seoul Garden in Cleveland is a must-visit. My recent trip there was a delightful journey through Korea's culinary delights. The restaurant was quiet on a Saturday afternoon, which meant more attentive service and a peaceful dining experience. I indulged in their fried chicken and thin glass noodles, both of which were served in generous portions with fresh veggies and just the right amount of spice. The ginseng chicken soup was particularly uplifting, a perfect blend of flavors that warmed my soul.
Another standout dish was the tteokbokki, touted by many as the best in the area. It was sweet, spicy, and the pieces were satisfyingly long. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled with their flexibility in customizing dishes like the gopdol bibimbap, from which they willingly removed mushrooms and eggs upon request. The side dishes, especially the sweet potato, were a hit, complementing the main courses beautifully.
Despite the restaurant being a bit smoky due to the BBQ grills and having only one waiter multitasking through the crowd, the quality of food and the warmth of the staff made up for the wait. The bulgogi, despite the meat being a tad tough, was smoked and seasoned to perfection, leaving a memorable taste that beckons me to return. Whether you're a local or just passing through Ohio, Seoul Garden's vibrant atmosphere and delicious offerings are worth the stop.
