MSYO Spring Concert Showcases Young Talent on May 5

The Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra (MSYO) is set to showcase their musical prowess in their Spring Concert, taking place on Sunday, May 5 at the Renaissance Theatre. Under the baton of conductor Stephen Domka, the concert will commence at 3:30 p.m. at the venue located at 40 W 4th St, Mansfield, OH.

Audiences can anticipate a vibrant selection of pieces including Suite No. 1 in G by Martin Rutherford and An American Rhapsody by Richard Meyer, reflecting the spirit of the American landscape. A highlight of the concert will be the performance of The Phantom of the Opera medley by Calvin Custer.

The concert will also shine a spotlight on the talents of three senior soloists from Lexington High School: Scott Bartlett on viola, Clarissa Cousart on trombone, and Wyatt Miller on violin, performing works by Vivaldi, Guilmant, and Lalo, respectively.

The MSYO, comprised of some of North Central Ohio’s finest young musicians, represents a wide array of schools across a 12-county region. This performance not only provides a platform for these dedicated students but also contributes to the Mansfield Symphony’s Education initiative. The community is encouraged to support the local youth and experience a delightful afternoon of classical music.
