Oneil Cruz's comments on Pirates forcing him to center field are eye-opening
The Pittsburgh Pirates' decision to move error-prone shortstop Oneil Cruz to center field was sudden, but it wasn't altogether surprising. Cruz had committed 24 errors at shortstop this season, the second most in the major leagues, while recording a minus-9 defensive runs saved. The Pirates had recently placed everyday center fielder Michael A. Taylor on waivers (he awkwardly returned on Tuesday), and they have exactly zero pure center field prospects waiting in the wings.

Steelers rookie DB done for the year
When the Pittsburgh Steelers selected former Texas defensive back Ryan Watts in the 2024 NFL draft, we felt like the Steelers got a bargain. As training camp and the preseason went on, we cooled on Watts a bit but still felt like he had a shot to make the final 53-man roster.
Jaguars gave the Steelers a gift after cutting former starting center
The Steelers have been working on overhauling their offensive line in recent years with the hope of restoring this group to its former glory. Part of that was through the selection of Zach Frazier in the second round this year. While he cemented his starting spot this offseason, it came as a result of Nate Herbig being lost for the season with an injury.
