DAYTON, OH- Shootout is the word for this Div. II State title game as both teams attempted 55 3-point shots during the course of this game, Archbishop Alter would reign supreme and walk away with a 68-54 win over Zanesville Maysville to capture their 4th state title in program history.

On top of the 3 point barrage there was one other stat that was very one-sided, Maysville did not go to the free-throw line at all, while Alter went 18 for 21 shooting 86% for the freebies.

This was by far the most competitive game so far (excluding Div. I game, at time of print it was not played) during the OHSAA state championships, both teams played well executed smart basketball on both ends of the floor.

Ultimately is was the 3rd quarter that pushed the lead ahead, Alter scoring 21 points in the quarter off of 6 of 11 field goals, 3 for 7 3-point goals and 6 of 7 from the free throw line. Maysville scored 10 total points in the quarter.

Four of Alter's starters scored in double figures going 8 for 19 from behind the 3 point stripe, a great team effort to bring home the win. Alter's senior PG/SG Joe Brand was the high point man with 23 points also 4 rebs and 2 assists to cap off his championship win.

Maysville play did not go unnoticed as they went shot for shot during the course of the game, shooting 14 of 36 3 point shots with Alex Bobb taking the most going 6 for 20 for the game, Bobb would end up the high point man for the knights scoring 24 points adding 7 rebs and 3 assists and 2 steals.

With the win the Archbishop Alter Knights clinched their 4th state title in program history.
