COLUMBUS, OH- The Ohio High School Athletic Association made a move to allow student/athletes who play football to participate in a once unapproved participation in 7-on-7 competition prior to or after season excluding the 28-day no contact period.

OHSAA Executive Director Doug Ute released the confirmed news letter after word got around that the association would indeed grant students/athletes to go forward with participation.

Before May 15 a limit of 7 football players from same school can now play together in a 7-on-7 competition, and there is no limit on the number of competitions a player or coach can participate, after May 15 there is no limit on the number of students/athletes from the same school who can compete together in a 7-on-7 competition.

"We have been talking about the football 7-on-7 regulation for some time now," said OHSAA Executive Director Doug Ute in news release. "We want to stress that hitting is still not permitted in the off-season."

As stated in the news release changes are effective immediately and any student/athlete that participated prior to approval will not face any discipline.
