Jackson's Taylor Mikesell is a free agent once again as she was waived by the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA according to their website transaction page on Monday, May 6.

Mikesell has been around the league ever since being drafted number 13 overall in the 2023 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever, with stops in Atlanta with the dream and the latest with the Sparks.

Taylor's best string of games was with the Atlanta Dream where she played in six games averaging 2.8 points, her biggest asset has been having the ability to shoot the long ball over the course of her career.

With the league expanding to include more roster space this scenario has been very common over the years in what players call the 'W', with only twelve roster spots available per the 12 teams its tough to make rosters in this heavy veteran league.

Drafting the Fever's Caitlyn Clark has added a significant amount of revenue to the league with already adding chartered flights and boosted ticket sales hopefully their will be more space for players like Mikesell one of the best sharp shooters in the game.

Taylor was a highly decorated standout athlete from Massillon Jackson High School, eventually playing college ball at Maryland, Oregon, and Ohio State University, she was BigTen freshman of the year at Maryland playing two seasons before transfering to the University of Oregon playing just one season eventually finishing out her college career at the Ohio State University.
