Trendsetters AAU making noise early in season

Canton, OH- AAU season is in full swing minus some athletes playing their high school spring sports to complete or fill out rosters heading into June and July.

One perticular team based in Canton, Ohio is ran by St. Thomas Aquinas Assistant Varsity girls coach and Founder-CEO and head coach of Trendsetters Basketball Academy-Girls AAU Mr. Bryan Mickens.

Mickens has had some success leading his teams over the past couple years, this year his rosters have been a bit short but talented led by Canton Mckinley class of '26 combo guard Mya Taylor and Mickens daughter Zoe McCort also in the '26 class and a product of North Canton Hoover basketball.

So far early in season the Lady Trendsetters have played in three tournaments around Ohio and surrounding states, the latest was in The Prime Event Midwest in Westfield, IN where they finished 5-0 and took home the championship.

With several more tournaments to go the Lady Trendsetters seem to be peaking at the right time, with other teammates coming after the spring sports high school seasons closing out it should be interesting to see how they fair the rest of the way.
