    Black College Football HOF Classic game returns for 5th year

    CANTON, OH- Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium will be the place Sunday, Sept. 1 for the 5th annual Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic, pitting Virginia State University vs. Benedict College both historically black universities (HBCUs).

    Virginia State is led by head coach Dr. Henry Frazier III entering his 3rd year at the helm, a product of Fairmont Heights High School in Maryland led his team to an 8-2 record in the 2023 campaign.

    The Tigers of Benedict college head man is Ron Dickerson Jr. in his first year at the helm brings a wealth of experience to the Tiger program, over 27 years to be exact at the college and Pro level.

    "The Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic weekend is the premiere showcase for all of Northeast Ohio to celebrate the excellence that resides at America's Historically Black Colleges and Universities," said Pro Football Hall of Fame Chief Relationship Officer Adrian Allison.

    Kick-off is set for 4 p.m. with the Black College Football Hall of Fame (gallery) 2024 class plaque unveiling inside the Pro Football Hall of Fame slated for 2 p.m.
