    Longtime Stark County Head Coach Paul Wackerly out as Glenoak girls head man

    PLAIN TWP, OH- Longtime Head Coach Paul Wackerly will not be walking the sidelines for Glenoak girls basketball as news hits the press, he is moving on.

    Wackerly has coached both boys and girls basketball having success on both sides, winning over 500+ games for the girls that included stops at North Canton Hoover, St. Thomas Aquinas and eventual Glenoak, also a stop on the boys side for Perry High School.

    "As we look to the future, we are committed on building on the foundation established by Coach Wackerly and are eager to welcome a new coach who will inspire and lead our young athletes," the school district said in a press release.

    The well established coach has acquired many awards and acclamations over a 30+ year career for his winning ways including being named Century Award winner by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association among other honors.

    As for now the Glenoak girls program will be on the hunt for a replacement hoping to continue to keep the program moving forward.
