CANTON, OH- The Polar Bears of Jackson would not be denied, upsetting a Bulldog team entering the game undefeated in Federal League play to walk away with a 20-7 victory and end McKinley's bid at an outright Federal League title.

Jackson used a balanced attack in all phases of the game to get the victory, after getting possession from a Bulldog three and out during the first quarter Jackson would march down the field on a 42 yard catch and run from Lucas Ecrement to senior running back Kristian Satterfield down to the Mckinley 3 yard line.

"Our running game had been working, and then on top of that our passing game started working again." said Ecrement.

Satterfield would get the call to finish off the drive with a 3 yard touchdown (Cooper Mizeur PAT good) with 8:59 left in the first quarter to go up 7-0.

Penalties would hurt the Bulldogs on the ensuing possession, a hold and a false start as Mckinley would fail to convert again, both teams would come up empty until :07 left in the first half, senior Foster Stanley would pound out a 1 yard TD run to put the Polar Bears up 14-0 (Kick Good) to end the first quarter.

By the second quarter both defenses made good stops, Jackson would get two big sacks early in the quarter and Mckinley would get a big 4th down stop with 7:11 to go, Nino Hill would make his mark in the game scoring on a 9 play drive where he would carry the load for a 2 yard score with 4:25 left in the half.

"We wanted to get pressure on the quarterback the whole time, we wanted to make him uncomfortable in the pocket and that's what we were able to do tonight." said Satterfield.

That would be the only time the Bulldogs would see the endzone on the night as Jackson would pick off Kam Montgomery with :57 left that would result in a field goal by Cooper Mizeur to end the half leading 17-7.

Nothing more than shooting themselves in the foot, that would hurt the Bulldogs down the stretch of the game although the defense held Jackson to a 21 yard field goal with 5:59 left in the 3rd quarter and that would be all the scoring Jackson needed to put the penalty riddled Bulldogs away and still have a shot for a Federal League crown.

Up next for Jackson is a week 10 matchup with North Canton Hoover who edged Lake with a 18-17 victory, Mckinley will be in the nation's biggest game as the Mck-Mass rivalry has arrived as the will meet the Nationally ranked Tigers of Massillon as they walk off a 45-14 victory over Warren Harding.
