Caddo Fire District 4 captain struck in head by unknown object, undergoes surgery
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - An unknown metal object was discovered in the head of an off-duty Caddo fire department captain who was injured while bush-hogging. On Aug. 13 around 7 p.m., Caddo Fire District 4′s Capt. Freddie Martin was bush-hogging on property in Blanchard when he was hit in the head by an unknown object. The impact knocked Martin unconscious temporarily. He regained consciousness and contacted his wife, who took him to the nearest emergency room.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KPEL News) - A Shreveport woman is in serious trouble after shining laser pointers at two aircraft, which is a major federal crime. April Nicole Poitras, 45, of Shreveport, entered a guilty plea in federal court to multiple charges and faces up to 5 years in prison and up to a quarter million dollars in fines.

SHREVEPORT, LA- Shoplifting Incident Escalates to Violent Encounter for SPD Officer. A shoplifting incident turned violent on August 9th at approximately 5:00 p.m., when a Shreveport Police Officer was contacted at the Walmart located in the 1600 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. The officer was contacted by the store manager, who reported that a male suspect was attempting to conceal items inside the store. The manager had already attempted to confront the suspect but was unsuccessful as the man was instantly confrontational.
