HEAT builds with no relief anytime soon
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Welcome to a sweltering Wednesday with another heat advisory. It’s doubtful we’ll see any relief through the end of the week. Higher humidity is bringing warmer temperatures this morning as we’ll be around 80 degrees at sunrise. Sunny skies through the morning will send our temperatures into the mid-90s by lunchtime, with highs near 100 degrees late this afternoon. Our heat index continues to be a concern with a ‘feels like’ temperature around 110 degrees this afternoon. Try to limit your time outside between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Heat advisory in effect Wednesday
SHREVEPORT, La. - The heat is here to stay as another heat advisory is in effect from late Wednesday morning through the evening hours, according to the National Weather Service-Shreveport. Look for heat indices during this period to reach near 109 degrees. Actual temperatures will likely hit triple digits in some areas. If outdoor activities are planned, take extra precautions.

Caddo teacher accused of inappropriate contact with student arrested
SHREVEPORT, La. - The search for a Caddo Parish Schools teacher wanted for allegedly engaging in inappropriate relations with a student has ended with his arrest. Shreveport police made the public aware Tuesday morning of their search for Dayton Corbett, 32. He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Arrest made in bomb threat against Shreveport church
SHREVEPORT, La. -- A California man is awaiting extradition to Shreveport, where he'll face prosecution for allegedly making a bomb threat to a local church. Grant Livigni was arrested Monday in Mt. Shasta, Calif. Caddo Parish sheriff's deputies will transport him from there to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he'll be booked on a charge of communicating false information of a planned arson or bombing. He's held without bond.
