Kim Richards Put on Psychiatric Hold Over Dispute With Sister Kyle After Substance Abuse Relapse: Report

After years of being sober, Kim Richards has reportedly relapsed, leading to an incident at sister Kyle Richards ' home on Wednesday, September 25.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 60, was put on a psychiatric hold following the dispute with her younger sibling, 55, in Los Angeles. Earlier this week, authorities were called to the property, and Kim was removed from the premises.
Kim had previously been given permission to stay at Kyle's home , however, that privilege was later rescinded due to her substance abuse issues. It's been reported police had supposedly been told Kim was not allowed at the house in hopes that cutting her off would push her to get sober.
Allegedly, a similar incident occurred back in September, when Kim was staying at a Hilton hotel, acting “incoherent.” Police were called when the former reality TV star refused to leave the establishment. She was also placed on a 5150 hold at the time and and taken away via an ambulance.
Kim seemingly was released from that hold when the tiff took place at her younger sister's residence.
The ex-Bravolebrity — who was a full-time cast member on Seasons 1-5 of RHOBH — has struggled with her sobriety for years now, resulting in a complicated relationship between her and Kyle.
In the first season of the show, Kyle even outed Kim as an “alcoholic," however, in 2011, Kim got help .
Andy Cohen later revealed that the network had financed Kim's rehab stay.
“When it was clear that it was a real problem, we wanted to be responsible and we didn’t want to put her in a situation where anything could be exacerbated,” the famous Bravo host penned in Diamonds and Rosé .
“We considered her family and wanted to work with her to get her better. Bravo paid for her rehab,” he stated.

In 2019, while on The Jenny McCarthy Show , Kyle addressed Kim's sobriety, claiming Bravo has saved the actress' life.
“If anything, being on the show made her accountable and she says that as well," the mother-of-four said at the time. “She says that it saved her life because you know, there’s nowhere to hide and everyone knows — now anywhere she goes, people know who she is. She can’t get away with anything ! So it actually helped her!”
