Okanogan County Authorities Seek Witnesses to Bridgeport Area Felony Hit-and-Run Collision
Authorities in Okanogan County are urgently seeking information after a man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision early last Sunday. The victim was walking on State Route 17 near milepost 138, not far from Bridgeport, when he was struck by a vehicle, or possibly multiple vehicles, that failed to remain at the scene. The Washington State Patrol reported the collision occurred between 3:00 and 3:00 AM. Investigators are combing the area for evidence and have asked for the public's assistance in identifying the driver or drivers involved.

NOTICE OF MEETING TO ADOPT 2024-2025 BUDGET AND CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING. NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to RCW 28A.505.050 and RCW 28A.505.060, that the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Methow School District No. 350, Okanogan, County, Washington (the “District”) will hold a regular meeting on July 25, 2024, commencing at 5:30 PM in the district office, located at 18 Twin Lakes Rd., Winthrop, Washington. The meeting is called for the purpose of fixing and adopting the budget of the District for the ensuing 2024-2025 fiscal year. Prior to adoption of the 2024-2025 budget, the Board will hold a hearing for the purpose of receiving comments from the public on the 2024-2025 budget. Any person may appear at the hearing and be heard for or against any part of the 2024-2025 budget, the four year budget plan, or any proposed changes to uses of enrichment funding under RCW 28A.505.240 (a/k/a Educational Programs and Operation Levy). Upon conclusion of the hearing, the Board shall fix and determine the appropriation from each fund contained in the 2024-2025 budget and shall, by resolution, adopt the 2024-2025 budget, the four year budget plan summary, and the four-year enrollment projection. The 2024-2025 budget information is available on the District website methow.org or may be obtained by contacting the district office at 509-996-9205.
