BRIDGEPORT — The Washington State Patrol says it’s investigating a hit-and-run collision in rural Okanogan County that left a pedestrian injured. Arthur M. Binford, 59, of Spokane Valley was walking on the shoulder of Highway 17 near Bridgeport early Sunday when an unknown vehicle struck him and continued on. The accident was reported about 3:45 a.m.

NOTICE OF MEETING TO ADOPT 2024-2025 BUDGET AND CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING. NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to RCW 28A.505.050 and RCW 28A.505.060, that the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Methow School District No. 350, Okanogan, County, Washington (the “District”) will hold a regular meeting on July 25, 2024, commencing at 5:30 PM in the district office, located at 18 Twin Lakes Rd., Winthrop, Washington. The meeting is called for the purpose of fixing and adopting the budget of the District for the ensuing 2024-2025 fiscal year. Prior to adoption of the 2024-2025 budget, the Board will hold a hearing for the purpose of receiving comments from the public on the 2024-2025 budget. Any person may appear at the hearing and be heard for or against any part of the 2024-2025 budget, the four year budget plan, or any proposed changes to uses of enrichment funding under RCW 28A.505.240 (a/k/a Educational Programs and Operation Levy). Upon conclusion of the hearing, the Board shall fix and determine the appropriation from each fund contained in the 2024-2025 budget and shall, by resolution, adopt the 2024-2025 budget, the four year budget plan summary, and the four-year enrollment projection. The 2024-2025 budget information is available on the District website methow.org or may be obtained by contacting the district office at 509-996-9205.

Okanogan County Auditor’s Office is now accepting applications for the position of Vehicle Licensing Clerk. Minimum Qualifications: High school education or equivalent with two years of office work experience involving public contact. Keyboarding and computer skills required. Ability to work under pressure and use tact, discretion and courtesy in working with the public, office personnel and interdepartmental contacts. Starting salary range of $19.7250 to $23.9827 per hour (DOE) with benefits including: Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, VEBA, retirement, paid holidays and sick and annual leave accruals.
