When the Festus Post 253 senior (AAA) team played its last American Legion baseball game this summer in a wild 15-12 loss to the Jackson Tribe in the Zone 1 tournament Monday night, it also was the end of the line for Devin and Dylan Black of Herculaneum. Post 253 held off elimination Sunday with a 1-0 shutout of Ste. Genevieve Post 150 and with a 2-1 victory over Kirkwood Post 156 in its first game Monday.
Atomic by Jamo to take over former Atomic Cowboy space in The Grove
A new iteration of the St. Louis classic Atomic Cowboy is returning to The Grove, and the excitement is undeniable. Atomic by Jamo is set to open this fall in the same, now-renovated building at 4140 Manchester Avenue. In addition to the lively dance parties of yore, this reimagined Atomic will bring music by local and national acts to the party, as well as a food- and cocktail-forward bar program. A few musicians taking the stage in September include STRFKR and Black Uhuru.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis police are investigating the cause of death for a woman found fatally injured Wednesday night in St. Louis' Carondelet neighborhood. Illinois Man Arrested for Allegedly Abusing North Carolina Teen
Green Oaks, IL – A 15-year-old girl from North Carolina was rescued from a Green Oaks residence, where she was allegedly held and abused. According to the United States Marshals Service, the missing girl was found on Prairie Ridge Road after an investigation with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. On July 24, detectives obtained a search warrant and apprehended Andrew W. Szech, 43, who was seen leaving the home with the victim.
