One former Michigan State player has made it known that he has extremely high expectations for year one under Jonathan Smith. Matt Seybert — who was a tight end at Michigan State from 2017 – 2019 — believes Michigan State should be in the College Football Playoff this year. He posted on X that he likes the combination of the new coaching staff and transfer quarterback Aidan Chiles, and that’ll drive the Spartans into the new 12-team College Football Playoff in 2024.
