Tre Mitchell agrees to Summer League deal with Oklahoma City Thunder

And then there were five, Tre Mitchell securing the final NBA slot among draft-eligible Kentucky Wildcats in this cycle.

Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham got things rolling in the first round, selected Nos. 3 and 8 by the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves, respectively. Then Antonio Reeves heard his name called midway through the second round, drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans at No. 47. Justin Edwards slipped out of the draft, unfortunately, but was quickly picked up by his hometown Philadelphia 76ers on a two-way contract. That left Mitchell as the final remaining Wildcat waiting to see what his future holds as a pro.

Where will he be heading? Oklahoma City, the sixth-year senior out of Pittsburgh agreeing to a Summer League deal with the Thunder, sources tell KSR.

Mitchell will make his Thunder debut during the 2024 Salt Lake City Summer League, a three-day event scheduled for July 8-10 at Utah’s Delta Center. That event will feature the Jazz, Thunder, Grizzlies and 76ers, meaning Justin Edwards will be in attendance with Philadelphia, as well. They’ll open the schedule with a head-to-head battle on July 8, the Thunder taking on the 76ers at 7 p.m. ET.

From there, the Thunder will take on the Jazz at 9 p.m. ET on July 9, followed by the Grizzlies at 7 p.m. ET on July 10.

After things wrap up in Salt Lake City, OKC will then head to Sin City to play in the 2K25 Las Vegas Summer League, an annual showcase featuring all 30 teams set to run from July 12-22. That game schedule has not yet been released.
