The latest bakery to open in Oklahoma city is bringing with it global flavors and techniques cloaked in artistic designs from the hands of a classically trained pastry chef.
L'Arc Patisserie, 9309 N Pennsylvania Ave., offers modern French takes on classic French techniques in desserts so beautiful, it's hard to want to consume them. But you will want to consume them, because the flavors match the visual appeal of the art on display at the shop located in the Casady Square shopping center.
Chef Isabella Li, who honed her craft at 5-star resorts in Macau before eventually making her way to Oklahoma, said details are important to her, and that is obvious when you look at the attention put into each layer and fleck of color in the desserts at her shop.
Li's desserts have as much range in flavor as they do in design with options including the decadent Russian Tale, which features dark chocolate mousse, mango cream, raspberry coulis and a chocolate sponge cake or the realistic looking mango complete with a chocolate shell, mango mousse and compote and Joconde sponge.
Fruit lovers will find bliss in options like the Cloud Petite with cream cheese mousse, mango purée,berry coulis, and a crisp sablé cookie and the Morning Rose offers a combination of light flavors with white chocolate mousse, raspberry purée and raspberry cream and almond sponge making it a perfect dessert for warm summer months.
Many of the elaborate small desserts in the shop are temperature sensitive, making them best enjoyed on site during hot summer days unless you plan to return home quickly. However, Li also offers cookies, cakes, tarts and more that may be easier to travel with, including options like her Le Tigre cakes and oversized chocolate chip pecan cookies.
Full size cakes are also available at L'Arc Patisserie and Li can customize specialty items to order as well.
