OKLAHOMA CITY Pivot, A Turning Point for Youth, will open 15 new tiny homes in Oklahoma City to support youth facing housing instability after aging out of foster care.

The homes and a community center, in partnership with Oklahoma Human Services, will be open for tours on Friday, July 12, from 3 to 6 p.m.

"No matter the situation, Pivot supports young people during transitions to help them become self-reliant adults," said Jennifer Goodrich, president and CEO. "All young people have talents, skills, and dreams, and we aim to bring hope to those dreams."

Pivot began building tiny homes in 2018 with a grant from Impact Oklahoma. The latest phase was funded by Oklahoma Human Services, focusing on sheltering youth who aged out of foster care.

"We are excited about our partnership with Pivot," said Dr. Deborah Shropshire, director of Oklahoma Human Services. "The tiny homes and community center provide stability while young people work on long-term housing plans."

The open house will be at 201 NE 50th St., Oklahoma City. Contact Chandy Rice at (405) 235-7537 Ext. 243 or chandy.rice@pivotok.org for more information.
