Collection of June storm debris to follow regular bulky waste schedule

OKLAHOMA CITY Oklahoma City Solid Waste Management completed a citywide assessment of damage caused by severe storms on June 25. No special debris collection will occur for this storm event. All residential solid waste customers are asked to set out any tree limbs or downed fencing with their regular bulky waste collection throughout July.

    Key points:

    • Separate storm-related debris, such as tree limbs or fencing, from regular bulky waste like carpeting, furniture or appliances.

    • Cut tree limbs into sections of 10 feet or shorter.

    • Do not set bulky items near mailboxes, gas meters, under trees, overhead lines or other obstructions.

    • Avoid placing bulky items on water meter tiles or blocking sidewalk access.

    • Bagged items are not part of the bulky waste collection program.

Commercial properties, including businesses, churches, schools and nonprofits, are responsible for their own debris collection and disposal.

Residential customers in heavily impacted areas will not be fined for early setout of storm debris before their regular July bulky waste collection day.
