Police on Friday publicly confirmed the identity of a victim from a fatal stabbing in northwest Oklahoma City a week ago.

The Oklahoma City Police Department announced the name of the victim, Allen Williams, 39, in a news release.

Williams was found dead by police after a report of a stabbing near the intersection of NW 23 and N MacArthur Boulevard around 5 p.m. on June 28.

According to investigators, Williams had been fighting with another man near the street when the other man stabbed Williams to death with a knife. The man, 28, fled the scene on foot as officers arrived and was taken into custody a short time later, police said.

The man was first taken to a local hospital. He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaint of first-degree murder Wednesday. The Oklahoman is not naming the man because he has not yet been formally charged. Jail records show his bond is set at $10 million.
