OKLAHOMA CITY Goodwill Central Oklahoma was recently awarded a $25,000 grant from the Kirkpatrick Family Fund to assist with the purchase of a Mobile Learning Lab to serve underserved communities in dire need of education and job training resources.

The lab will be equipped with digital technology, facilitating a comprehensive training program that offers micro credentials in essential skills like project management, IT and digital marketing. Services will also include job readiness, resume assistance and interview coaching.

The Lab will explicitly target areas with high unemployment rates among minority groups, directly addressing Goodwill’s goal of reducing employment disparities and fostering inclusive community development.

“Acquiring the right set of digital skills is not only important for learning and workforce readiness but also vital to foster a more open, inclusive and secure lifestyle,” Goodwill Central Oklahoma Vice President of Community Engagement Melissa Richey said. “This generous grant from the Kirkpatrick Family Fund will help us advance the lives of those we serve by preparing them for work, betterment of life and afford them access to a world primarily available through technology.”
