On Monday, officers were called to the Parkview Flats Apartments near NW 19th St. and N. Meridian Ave.

“It was the mother who had called 911 to let them know about the unresponsive child,” said Knight.

Officers found 10-month-old Ethan Lopez-Monterosso. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where sadly, he was pronounced dead.

“Evidence has led us to the point where we know that the child died of injuries consistent with homicide,” said Knight. “I can’t go into the nature of those injuries.”

Police say further investigation led to the arrest of the baby’s father, 22-year-old Marnin Relaey Lopez-Tello. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.

“Interviews with the family, interviews with the doctors, interviews with the medical examiner’s office, piecing all of that together again, led us to an arrest yesterday,” said Knight.

Lopez-Tello is facing a charge for first degree murder by child abuse.

According to the OCDC’s website, Lopez-Tello’s bond is set at $10 million.
