Oklahoma City's Paycom Center will be a "Happier" place as the temporary capital of the "Rhythm Nation" this weekend.

The venue is hosting back-to-back concerts spotlighting women hitmakers making their Paycom Center debuts: Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Janet Jackson will bring her "Together Again Tour " to the downtown OKC arena at 8 p.m. Friday, July 26, and three-time Grammy winner Olivia Rodrigo will spill her "Guts" live and in concert there at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27.

As OKC Mayor David Holt noted this week in his State of the City speech, Paycom Center is on a record-breaking pace this year as a concert venue: The arena is scheduled to host nearly 40 concerts in 2024, which would smash its previous record of 37 touring music and comedy events set in 2022.

What can fans expect from Janet Jackson's OKC 'Together Again Tour' stop?

An entertaiment legend, Jackson, 58, is winding down the 35-date 2024 extension of her ninth concert tour. With Ms. Jackson’s "Together Again 2024 Tour," the five-time Grammy winner set out to build on the success of her 2023 run, which was the highest-selling trek of her career, included 36 sold-out shows and garnered rave reviews from fans and the press.

With her "Together Again Tour," Jackson is celebrating her 50th anniversary in the entertainment industry as well as big milestones for three of her most critically acclaimed albums: 25 years of “The Velvet Rope," 30 years of “janet” and 35 years of “Rhythm Nation.”

Jackson is the record holder for the biggest-selling debut tour in history, as well as the first woman to debut in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 charts.

With sales of more than 180 million records worldwide, the influential singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and businesswoman is one of the best-selling artists of all time, and the set list for her 2024 shows has been jam-packed with about three dozen hits (many in medley form), including "Love Will Never Do (Without You)," "What Have You Done for Me Lately," "Nasty" and more.

Three-time Grammy-winning rapper Nelly is joining Jackson on all dates as her special guest. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Paycom Center for the concert.

After her Friday OKC show, Jackson is wrapping up her "Together Again 2024 Tour" with concerts Saturday, July 27 at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, and Tuesday, July 30 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
