The car crashed into a fence surrounding a practice field at Southeast High School, near SW 53rd and Sante Fe.

Johnson’s wife immediately called the police.

“[The victim] was actually critically wounded,” said MSgt. Gary Knight with OKCPD. “He had been shot.”

According to OKCPD, earlier in the night the driver picked up a woman he hadn’t met before.

“At some point while she’s in the car, she pulls out a pistol, demands money. When he refuses, she simply shoots him, gets out of the car and flees,” said Knight.

As for the shooter, police told KFOR she’s still on the run.

“Our main concern was if this person is injured,” said Johnson. “Fences and cars can be replaced. People can’t.”
