    Company finally repairs woman’s wheelchair accessible tub after News 4 steps in

    OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — A metro woman’s walk-in-tub she paid $20K to have installed two years ago is finally working after News 4 stepped in.

    Last week, News 4 shared Oklahoma City woman Patricia O’Hara’s story.

    O’Hara has mobility challenges due to a stroke, and uses a wheelchair.

    ORIGINAL STORY: ‘Woman says she paid $20k for walk-in tub that has never worked, company won’t fix’

    Two years ago, she paid Kansas-based ‘Bath Wizard’ $20,000 to install a walk-in tub in her master bathroom.

    The bathtub was supposed to have jets to help ease some chronic pain she’s been dealing with, but the jets and most of the tub’s features never worked.

    “There’s a light in there that doesn’t work,” O’Hara said. “The jets, nothing mechanical works. All that works is the water.”

    O’Hara told News 4 she made numerous calls to Bath Wizard over the past two years, but they either went unanswered, or resulted in unfulfilled promises.

    “I kept calling and they kept saying ‘We’ll come out there.’ So I kind of just assumed they would take care of it. They never did. And I finally realized I can’t put myself through this. I just gave up and contacted you all,” said O’Hara.

    But after News 4’s story aired last week, Bath Wizard finally gave her a call.

    “You sent them a text or called them,” O’Hara told News 4 on Friday. “Apparently as soon as they got it, they called me.”

    She says, Bath Wizard sent someone out this past Wednesday to fix her tub, putting her two year battle to rest in a matter of two hours.

    “They sent somebody out to fix everything, which they did,” O’Hara said.
    “And now, thanks to [News 4], the jets work, the light works, the handles work. Everything that didn’t work before, they fixed. So that’s amazing that it was really that quick.”

    But it’s a battle she says should never have had to happen.

    “Well, it’s something that should have been done,” O’Hara said. “I’m grateful. I’m thankful to you guys for getting it done. But this is something they should have done. So I don’t think I need to be thankful to them.”

    Earlier this week, News 4 also shared the story of another Bath Wizard customer — a Midwest City man whose shower Bath Wizard ripped down to the studs in April, and never finished.

    After that story aired, Bath Wizard’s owner finally responded to News 4. The owner promised Bath Wizard will also work to make that man’s situation right.

    News 4 will report if Bath Wizard follows through with that promise.
