Testing finds presence of blue-green algae at Arcadia Lake
Testing by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality found above-acceptable levels of blue-green algae in an area near the face of the dam at Arcadia Lake. The levels will not impact the water used from the lake by City of Edmond Water Resources. Water used for residential and business customers is pulled from levels far below any surface algae, and the treatment process used on lake water before it becomes part of the distribution system ensures it is safe for drinking and public use.
