Local OKC Schools Gear Up for 2024 Youth Rowing League Championships

Twelve schools from Oklahoma City (OKC) will participate in the 2024 Youth Rowing League Championships. The event is scheduled for May 11, 2024, at RIVERSPORT OKC, 800 Riversport Dr, Oklahoma City. Over 124 middle and high school students from the metro area will compete, following 12 weeks of practice.

The championships will start at 4:30 p.m., with races taking place on a 500m course. An awards ceremony is planned for 8:30 p.m. The Youth Rowing League offers free rowing participation for youth from Title 1 Schools and local nonprofits.

The program is supported by grants and sponsorships from organizations such as CompSource Mutual Insurance Company, Mercy, Love’s County Stores, and others.

Competing teams include ASTEC High School, ASTEC Middle School, Boys and Girls Club, Cristo Rey HS, Mid Del Schools, Mission Academy, OSSM, Southeast High School, Southeast Middle School, St John Bosco Institute, Mustang Area Rowing Club High School, and Mustang Area Rowing Club Middle School.
