Another great song from the Twisters soundtrack. Today, Lainey Wilson released "Out of Oklahoma," which is featured on the Twisters: The Album film soundtrack. Of course, the movie is a follow-up to the 1996 blockbuster
Twister , and features Daisy Edgar-Jones starring as Kate Cooper, and Glenn Powell starring as Tyler Owens. The film is due out in theaters on July 19th. More than a few other great country artists are featured on soundtrack, and we’ve heard some great songs already from Luke Combs and Megan Moroney, who put out “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” and “Never Left Me,” respectively. Luke’s song is also his current single at country radio. Lainey says writing "Out of Oklahoma" was a challenge, but she was able to pull a lot of inspiration from her own life and funny enough, her forthcoming album is called Whirlwind which is a funny coincidence: "'Out of Oklahoma' my new song and video for the 'Twisters' movie is out now. It’s wild how life throws a theme at you ain’t it. My life the past few years has felt like a twister…hence why I titled my new album 'Whirlwind.'
So when I got the opportunity to write a song for the new 'Twisters' movie, it was a challenge I couldn’t pass up. Reading Kate’s story, I found a lot of parallels between our lives. We’re both chasing wild and crazy careers, but they make us feel something and give us a sense of home. Make sure to catch the new 'Twisters' movie in theaters July 19th, and get ready to hear my whirlwind story out Aug. 23rd on my new album." https://www.instagram.com/p/C8cKrIzueE4/?img_index=1 Tyler Childers, Miranda Lambert, The Red Clay Strays and so many more will be featured on the lengthy 29-song tracklist, and it’s extremely impressive that they put together a group of some of the best country acts in the business right now to produce what is already a really solid movie soundtrack (and that’s pretty rare to say). And "Out of Oklahoma" is a bit slower than some of the
recent releases we've heard from Lainey, but I think she nailed it and it's yet again a really good addition to this soundtrack. I think the last time I remember loving a movie soundtrack this much was when A Star Is Born came out in 2018, and we haven't even heard all of the music from this one yet. Of course, like I said, they've recruited the genres best to help and so far most of them have delivered.
