Deadly Shooting Friday in Carthage
A man was killed Friday night on Martin Luther King Dr. in Carthage. An officer was flagged down and quickly called for an ambulance when he found there was a gunshot victim. (July 22, 2024) – Boater John Anderson of Bay Springs, Mississippi, caught a five-bass limit weighing 10 pounds even Saturday to win the MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) Presented by T-H Marine on Lake Ferguson . The tournament was the fourth event of the season for the BFL Mississippi Division. Anderson earned $5,401, including the lucrative $2,500 Phoenix MLF Contingency Bonus, for his victory.
Kosciusko Tries for Federal Affordable Housing Grant
KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–Kosciusko is again applying for a federal grant that could help people who are having trouble affording housing. Mayor Tim Kyle tells Breezynews the city will try again to get the HOME Grant, which is administered by HUD, through the ten planning districts around Mississippi.
