    Man in custody after woman found dead in Olathe, Kansas home: police

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Olathe Police Department is investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead in a home Saturday evening.

    According to OPD, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of East Oakview Street just before 6 p.m. for a death investigation.

    Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive 72-year-old, white woman with “significant injuries.” She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

    A 40-year-old man, who is a relative of the woman, was taken into custody and placed on a 48-hour investigative hold, according to OPD.

    Officers said public safety is not at risk and all parties involved have been contacted.
