OLD BRIDGE - Whether you're five or 85, everyone loves a frosted animal cookie.

Fans can get their fill when Mother's Cookies' mobile frosted funhouse visits ShopRite of Old Bridge noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 21.

The mobile experience will include games, prizes, and of course, cookie samples.

It's part of the company's first Stop and Taste the Frosting Summer Tour, which began in Los Angeles in June and ends in Old Bridge.

Mother's Cookies is known for its pink and white frosted, sprinkled cookies in nearly a dozen shapes like elephants, hippos, camels, dragons, mermaids and unicorns.

Mother's Cookies' story began in 1914 at a newspaper stand in Oakland, California. N.M. Wheatley, a newspaper vendor, purchased the rights of some home-baked cookies from a customer. Wheatley named the cookies "Mother's" in honor of the brand new holiday, Mother's Day. Within a year, he sold the newspaper stand and began baking 2,000 cookies a day.

Mother's Cookies are sold all over the world and are now owned by Italian conglomerate Ferrero Group, the creators of Nutella.

Go: ShopRite of Old Bridge at 600 Schulmeister Road, Old Bridge; Sunday, July 21 noon to 4 p.m.; motherscookies.com/stopandtastethefrosting.
